The Irish Sun's report that Nottingham Forest are looking at buying Sheyi Ojo with Liverpool wanting £10 million should be cause for concern for Forest fans.

Liverpool want to cash in on the winger who does not feature in  Jurgen Klopp’s plans. While the winger had a reasonable 2017-18 season at Fulham, it scarcely justifies the £10 million asking price.

Ojo showed promise at Craven Cottage with his four goals and two assists came from 22 appearances. A natural dribbler of the ball, he attempted more dribbles (3.7 per 90 minutes) than any other player at the club who made more than 10 appearances. Combined with his 2.2 shots per game, he demonstrated his ability to inject energy and attacking verve into a side. With room and time to grow, he is a promising talent for the future.

Yet for all of this, there remain drawbacks to his game. 43% of his dribbles were unsuccessful. This is because he rarely lifts his head up. His 15.9 passes per game was notably lower than other right wingers such as Lucas Piazon (24.5) and Floyd Ayite (23.1). This will be ironed out as he matures, but it demonstrates how he is overvalued at £10 million.

Such a move from Nottingham Forest would be a mistake, particularly as it overlooks the multitude of wingers currently available at the City Ground. Dropping such a fee on a single player is only justifiable at this level if they are going to make a substantial difference and raise the team to a higher level. Sheyi Ojo will do neither of those things.
