‘Sign him up!’ – Midlands club plotting Leeds United attacker transfer deal: The verdict

Published

on

Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe is a target for West Bromwich Albion, according to Football Insider.

Would the 25-year-old be a good signing for Darren Moore’s side? Is he what the Baggies need?

We discuss…

Gary Hutchinson

He’s the sort of player they should be looking at, experienced at this level and showing enough promise to suggest there’s more to him at present.

Playing in a confident team under a good manager, Roofe might be a surprise package this season.

Sign him up!

Jay Williams

This is a move which could work for all parties.

Roofe has had spells at Leeds where he looks a top player but has also had periods where he has been disappointing.

A return to West Brom could be good for his career as he is likely to be given starts at The Hawthorns, given their small squad, and he can prove his attacking threat in the second tier.

Alfie Burns

With all their departures, West Brom need a goalscorer on board ahead of next season.

Roofe’s record at Leeds last season was decent, but I’m not sure he has what it takes to lead the line in a promotion-chasing team.

He’d be more of a squad addition at the Hawthorns.

Chris Gallagher

I don’t think so.

They need a proven, proper goalscorer – that’s not Roofe. He’s a decent player but Leeds fans will be pretty happy if he goes which says it all. Albion should do better.
