West Brom could still offer Gareth Barry a new deal, even though he is set to officially leave the club at the end of the week.

The midfielder's deal with the Baggies is set to expire but the Express & Star have revealed that he is still training with the club as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

That setback meant he missed the final part of the season and that seemed to impact Albion as they lost out to Aston Villa in the play-off semi-final.

Therefore, it seemed as though the 38-year-old had played his final game for the club but the latest report reveals that new boss Slaven Bilic could offer the ex-Manchester City man a short-term contract once he assesses him in training.

And, it's fair to say that the fans would support a decision to give Barry another season, with many feeling he still has a lot to offer in the Championship.
