Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is a summer transfer window target for Birmingham City, The Daily Mirror (06/06,p57) have reported.

The East Anglian Daily Times reported last month that there were three unnamed Championship clubs interested in the Pole, and it now appears that Birmingham are one of them.

Bialkowski, who has two years remaining on his contract at Portman Road, has made 178 appearances for Ipswich since joining from Notts County in the summer of 2014.

The same report from The Daily Mirror also claims that Millwall are interested in Bialkowski, as they look to strengthen their own squad ahead of next season.

So, would Bialkowski be a good signing for Birmingham?

We asked some of our Football League World writers for their opinions.

Chris Gallagher

"Sign him up!

"Lee Camp makes too many mistakes for Blues, so Garry Monk is right to search for a new keeper.

"At his best, Bialkowski is a top player at this level and a change could be exactly what he needs to rediscover that form."

Toby Wilding

"I think this would be a good move for Birmingham to make.

"The Blues don't really seem to have a competitive alternative to Lee Camp at the minute, and you feel Bialkowski experience and proven ability could make him even more than that.

"The only concern may be around his price tag. Birmingham's finances have been under scrutiny after their points deduction, and with Bialkowski still under contract it seems he is unlikely to come cheap.

"If they can find a way to afford it however, then this is surely something they should think about pursuing."

Alfie Burns

"Despite Birmingham's impressive campaign last season (nine point deductions aside) the goalkeeping situation caused arguments.

"Lee Camp did well, but Garry Monk will probably want an upgrade, and what an upgrade Bialkowski would be.

"It's been a tough time for him at Ipswich recently, but he's still a top Championship goalkeeper and someone capable of making a difference at Birmingham."
