Whilst there was a mixed response amongst Leeds United fans about the appointment of Thomas Christiansen, the first gauge of the Danish head coach will come in the transfer market.

Having already got a solid foundation to build upon, Christiansen has the ability to use this summer transfer window to stamp his authority on the squad.

Already, Leeds United have made seven signings this summer including the permanent acquisition of cult hero Pontus Jansson and also fellow loanee Hadi Sacko, and it appears that the West Yorkshire club is far from finished.

Following the much-expected news of Giuseppe Bellucci's departure from Leeds United, Thomas Christiansen now has the license to clear out more of the deadwood, this will enable to him create space in the squad for his own signings.

Sign - Ryan Kent

Following the departures of Modou Barrow and Alfonso Pedraza back to their parent clubs, it is clear that Thomas Christiansen needs to strengthen Leeds United's wide options.

One player who is clearly interesting Leeds United and Championship rival Hull City is Liverpool's enigmatic 20-year-old winger Ryan Kent.

After impressing for Coventry City, Ryan Kent really made a name for himself last season in the Championship as he was one of the standout stars in Paul Heckingbottom's Barnsley side.

Notably, Ryan Kent stood out in Barnsley's 3-2 victory over Leeds United, after swiveling on the edge of the area and rifling the ball into the bottom corner, Kent showed exactly what he had to offer.

With Liverpool keen to loan Ryan Kent out once again, Thomas Christiansen has the major decision to make, whether to concentrate his efforts on signing Ryan Kent or to look elsewhere for his wide options.

Sell - Toumani Diagouraga

As part of the transition which has seen Leeds United become viable promotion candidates after a strong campaign last season, some players have struggled to step up to the task.

One of these players is Toumani Diagouraga.

After joining Leeds United from Brentford, it appeared to be an astute signing as the French holding midfielder had impressed for the Bees.

However, last season was a particular low-point for the 30-year-old midfielder.

Following a lacklustre performance in the 3-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers, Diagouraga fell out of favour with Garry Monk to the point that he was training with Leeds' Under 23 squad.

Diagouraga was offered a temporary solution as he joined Ipswich Town on loan in the January transfer window and went on to make twelve appearances for Mick McCarthy's side.

Despite Garry Monk's departure, Diagouraga's future remains in doubt as Christiansen has the decision to make over the next few weeks to either sell the midfielder or give him a second chance to fight for his place.
