After a hugely impressive campaign for Forest Green Rovers, it comes as no surprise to see Reece Brown attracting the interest from a number of high-profile clubs.

The former Birmingham City youngster endured a couple of tricky spells away from St. Andrew's on loan, but has really come into his own under Mark Cooper since signing for Rovers permanently.

The versatile playmaker has scored 10 goals and produced 14 assists from midfield this season, playing an influential role in the Gloucestershire side's push up the League Two table.

The 23-year old has become one of the most talented players in the lower leagues, and Mark Cooper's side are likely to face a real battle to keep hold of their talisman, with his contract at the New Lawn set to expire at the end of the campaign.

The latest reports from Football Insider claim that Leeds United have joined the race to sign the player, who could be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Here, we take a look at the potential paths that await Brown in the summer...

Move to Leeds United

A move to Elland Road would probably be the most popular choice for Brown - a potential chance of playing Premier League football next season would surely be too good of an opportunity to turn down at his age.

Leeds are certainly in need of a player like Brown. He is a young, hungry midfielder who can score goals and produce plenty of assists, and is very good at carrying the ball forward.

Is he ready for Premier League football right now in his career? Perhaps not yet, but in the Championship, he could be a superb player under Bielsa's management. Just look at how well Kemar Roofe has done, since moving to Elland Road from a lower league side in Oxford United.

On a free transfer, he would be a bargain of a signing.

Move to Reading

Jose Gomes' Reading are another team said to be interested in Brown, and a switch to the Madejski Stadium is a move that he should definitely be considering.

The midfielder would fit seamlessly into Gomes' plans, especially if John Swift departs for Leeds United at the end of the season, and he would definitely provide the energy and tenaciousness that Swift provides if he were to leave.

Reading aren't likely to pushing for the Premier League next season, but they are undoubtedly improving under Gomes, and could be a force to be reckoned with next season.

Brown would be a key player for the Royals, and it's certainly worth a punt on a free transfer.

Stay at Forest Green

Of course, Brown could well stay and sign a new deal at Forest Green, which would be a huge statement of intent by the club given the calibre of teams reportedly interested in signing him.

Brown is clearly thriving in Mark Cooper's system, and there is a real chance that the Gloucestershire club could be in League One next season, should they win promotion via the play-offs this term.

If he were to win promotion with Rovers and stay in League One for another year, then his price tag would definitely increase, as he is bound to keep on improving as a player.
