Some serious quality has come out of Leeds United’s academy in recent years, with the first-team at Elland Road only benefitting from their ability for a short period of time.

The likes of Lewis Cook, Charlie Taylor and Sam Byram have come through Leeds’ academy since 2012, with the trio all moving on from Elland Road for a shot at Premier League football, whilst the Whites continue to struggle in the Sky Bet Championship.

Others including Alex Mowatt have also moved on elsewhere in the Football League, whilst just a small crop of players remain at Elland Road, with the likes of Kalvin Phillips gracing the first-team and Lewie Coyle and Tyler Denton pushing for a regular chance.

The youngsters at Elland Road were mentored by Lucy Ward, who shared pictures from Cook’s birthday on her personal Twitter account, with a number of ex-Leeds favourites in attendance, along with former Elland Road manager, Neil Redfearn.
