Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town are set to sign Ryan McGivern, according to HITC Sport.
The 26-year-old has missed out on the chance to go to the European Championships this summer, after not being chosen by Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill for the final 23-player squad.
McGivern turned down the opportunity to play for Port Vale next season by rejecting the new deal offered to him.
During his time at Vale Park the left-back made 55 appearances since joining from Scottish side Hibernian in the summer of 2014.
Reports suggest Ryan McGivern has already agreed a two-year deal with the Greenhous Meadow club.
The Newry-born defender started his career at Manchester City, but after being loaned out several times during his five-year spell with the Etihad club, was released and joined Hibs in 2013 before moving back to England for Port Vale the following year.
McGivern would become Shrewsbury’s fifth signing so far this summer, with the likes of Louis Dodds, Olly Lancashire, Gary Deegan and Antoni Sarcevic already arriving at the Shropshire side.
