Scottish defender Jack Grimmer will be a free agent this summer when his contract with Fulham expires, and a host of clubs are sure to chase the 23-year-old’s signature.

Shrewsbury will surely emerge as the most likely destination for the former Aberdeen youngster after three successful loans with the club, and a move to Shropshire should be in the thoughts of the player.

Shrewsbury Town will be looking to build on a season in which the Shrews narrowly avoided the drop, and boss Paul Hurst will hope to put together a squad capable of dragging the club further up the league table.

Having come close to relegation in each of their two seasons back in League One following promotion in 2015, fans will hope to avoid another relegation scrap, and the permanent signing of the talented young Grimmer would be an excellent start to Hurst’s summer dealings.

Grimmer knows the club well having played 51 league matches for the Shrews across the three aforementioned spells with the team, and will be know that a series of good performances in League One will potentially land him a move back to the Championship.

Shrewsbury will surely be keen to help him in this endeavour, gaining a fantastic young player with potential of a decent sell on fee.

Hurst needs a solid summer of transfer dealings, and the signing of Jack Grimmer is as solid as it gets.
