Lincoln City have announced the signing of midfielder Jorge Grant and many Lincoln fans can't hide their excitement.

The midfielder has made a permanent switch from Nottingham Forest to play in League One at Sincil Bank, joining for an undisclosed fee.

Grant had been at Nottingham Forest for seven years, scoring in his debut at White Hart Lane in the League Cup.

Grant, 24, has played 17 times in the Championship for Forest, but has mostly made his name in League Two while having loan spells at Notts County and Mansfield.

This season Grant went out on loan to League One champions Luton, but failed to really impress, playing 17 times, scoring twice and assisting once.

He had a better reception while on loan at Mansfield - who lost in the play-off semi on penalties - where he played in the league 18 times, scoring four times and assisting three.

Speaking to the club website, he said: “I am delighted and excited to be here.

“I have spoken to the managers two or three times now, and they really attracted me to the club.

“Over the last few years I haven’t had my chance while at Forest and I’ve had a few loan spells away, so I’m looking forward to showing the fans, in my new permanent home, what I can do on the pitch.

“Sincil Bank seems a really good place to play your football and I’m looking forward to getting started, and hopefully getting plenty of goals."

Lots of Lincoln fans have shared that excitement, as many believe this is a huge coup for the club as they take on League One.
