Charlton Athletic's board of directors have today released a statement aiming to allay fears over the financial future of the club.

Amid a global pandemic is probably not the best time to have in-house fighting and squabbling among those running your football club, but Charlton have seen exactly that.

Right now, it looks as though HE Tahnoon Nimer has got the upper hand in the struggle with Matt Southall and he has looked to assure fans that there are funds to keep the club going into April and beyond, as well as the fact that he is not planning to sell the Addicks any time soon.

Of course, fans are likely to take this with a pinch of salt given the amount of false dawns that have occurred in SE7 over the years but it is at least positive-sounding, and that is giving fans something to cling onto.
