‘Shouldn’t be criticised’ – Derby County fans jump to the defence of key man



Derby County are feeling the pressure in the Sky Bet Championship, with Gary Rowett’s side now winless in their last eight fixtures.

Last night Derby were expected to return to winning ways against Sunderland, however, the Championship’s basement club stunned the Pride Park Stadium to pick up a 4-1 victory.

Rowett’s side are now clinging on to their place in the Championship’s top-six, with Bristol City, Millwall and Sheffield United all closing in on the play-off places.

Supporters are frustrated, with one particular fan calling out Curtis Davies on Twitter, which has sparked an annoyed response from the defender.

Davies questions the claims about lacking bravery, insisting that he is a player that will always front up following a defeat.

Despite the attack from a supporter online, the majority of Derby’s supporters have rallied behind Davies, jumping to his defence.
