‘Shouldn’t be anywhere near the first XI’ – These Blackburn fans were not impressed with one individual in Stoke defeat

Blackburn Rovers were left frustrated in the race for a top six spot on Saturday afternoon, as they were beaten 1-0 by Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium.
Nick Powell’s early header was enough to secure all three points for the Potters, who almost settled for a 1-0 win from the moment they got into that position six minutes into the game.
Tony Mowbray’s were unable to break down that defence, meaning they were forced to return to Lancashire empty handed.
Perhaps not surprisingly, that performance from their side was not one that many Blackburn fans were pleased with as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game, and one individual who seemed to cause a fair amount of disappointment, was Sam Gallagher.
Played out wide in a left wing role, Gallagher put in another poor performance, as he struggled to really make an impact either in terms of creating or taking chances, from a position that is admittedly not natural for him, which did not go unnoticed by a number of Blackburn fans.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say about the attacker.
Gallagher out wide 🤷🤦 we will NEVER make it into the top 6 playing a big striker in the wingers position 😔

Dominate and lose again👍 Gallagher shouldn’t be anywhere near the first XI

Relying to much on Armstrong and Harvey up top not seeing anything from the other players! Gallagher was shocking and defensively we are even more shocking. Need to bring in some players bolster the defensive side for sure

A tough watch. We were on top but just couldn’t break Stoke down. A poor goal to concede, again but it looks like we’re close. Always going to have less opportunities with Gallagher playing out of position down the left. Don’t know why TM plays him. #Rovers

Disappointing so far from #rovers hopefully having Gallagher off the pitch will bring some positivity and individuality

If that could be the end of the Gallagher starting experiment, that would be great #Rovers #BRFC

Maybe we should try Gallagher at centre back, as nothing can stop an attack as quickly & effectively as he can. What on earth is he still doing in the team? Awful #rovers
