Ipswich Town defender Toto Nsiala is reportedly set to return to the club as his loan spell with Bolton Wanderers has ended, which has drawn an interesting reaction from fans of the club.
The 28-year-old joined the Trotters in January and was a mainstay in Keith Hill’s starting XI – missing just one game before the delay to the season.
English football has now been delayed for nearly two months but last Saturday should have been the final day in the 2019/20 League One campaign, which means all of Bolton’s loan deals have now expired.
According to Bolton News, the North West club have not yet made a firm decision on whether they will look to extend those deals and are unlikely to do so until a decision is made by the EFL over the conclusion of the League One season.
That means that Nsiala looks set to return to Portman Road.
The central defender has been unconvincing since joining from Shrewsbury Town in 2018, making just 33 appearances so far for the Tractor Boys.

It seems the Portman Road faithful aren’t too excited by the news he is returning to the club and many of them took to Twitter to voice their thoughts.

Hopefully going to Bolton was a wakeup call for him…

And once Woolfy is sold and Chambers retires, he will be one of our first choice centre-halves.

This guy shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team.

I’d be interested to read what Bolton fans think of him. I’d put him and Wilson in the same bracket.

Nsiala makes Wilson look like Maldini
