West Brom manager Slaven Bilic cannot help but be satisfied with his side''s current showing in the Championship, with the Baggies sitting on top of the table, two points clear of their nearest rivals ahead of the weekend trip to struggling Stoke City.

Bilic though is not all smiles, amid reports that West Ham are increasingly considering a recall of talented attacking midfielder Grady Diangana in January, actions that could tempt Bilic to recall his own forward Jon Leko, who is currently on-loan at Charlton Athletic.

So if the Baggies do lose Diangana, should they look to recall Leko?

We discuss........

Kris Smith

“It would be a smart move from West Brom to bring back Leko. Diangana would prove a huge loss and West Brom would need to move quickly to find a replacement in the transfer market.

“Utilising Leko would be the easiest option for the Baggies as it has no risk, there is barely any cost to recalling him and he would be eager to prove a point to Slaven Bilic.

“Diangana has been a revelation this season and Leko may not be able to perform to this standard right away, but he has been playing very well for Charlton in another side chasing promotion.

“Leko’s versatility would be a huge bonus too, as he can operate on either wing and upfront, helping remedy the goal shortage from West Brom’s strikers.”

Ned Holmes

"It is certainly something they should look at.

"The Baggies will feel desperately unlucky if they're to lose another on-loan player in January, as they did with Harvey Barnes last season, and they will likely look to replenish their forward unit.

"Leko is in great form for Charlton this season, helping them to challenge near the top of the table, and he could be really useful back at the Hawthorns.

"Slaven Bilic will have a decision to make. He is spoilt for choice in terms of wingers, with Kyle Edwards, Matty Phillips, Matheus Pereira all available to him Chris Willock, so is it worth it to recall Leko when he is getting some great experience at Charlton?

"I think it might be. It looks as though the Baggies will be fighting for promotion again this season and Leko could provide the extra boost they need."

"This would be a move that wouldn't make much sense in my opinion, as you would be swapping a winger for a striker that has limited experience playing in wide positions.

"Leko is a talented boy, but I struggle to see how much of an impact he would make if he was recalled by the Baggies, particularly as I think he would struggle to even get regular game time, which was clearly the main reason why he was shipped out in the first place.

"Diangana leaving West Brom would be a huge blow for Slaven Bilic, who has really helped to nurture the youngster into a true match winner for the club since he arrived on loan from West Ham this summer.

"If he does indeed leave the Hawthorns, I believe Bilic will refrain from recalling Leko and instead pursue other options which make become available in the January transfer market, with maybe another similar loan to that of Diangana's being a more favourable option for the Baggies boss."
