In many ways the 2016/17 campaign was disappointing for Queens Park Rangers, particularly after an impressive start to the season, which saw three victories from the opening five Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

However, The Hoops staggered to an 18th placed finish in the Championship table, ending up just two-points clear of the relegation zone after 46 games.

Ian Holloway oversaw the majority of the season having replaced Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as manager, but did not inspire QPR to challenge for a place in the top-half of the table.

One positive thing Holloway has done since his return to Loftus Road is brining Ryan Manning into the first-team and giving the 20-year old an opportunity to shine in the Championship.

Since making his debut towards the end of 2016, Manning has made 18 appearances for QPR, with 17 of those coming in the starting XI.

The midfielder’s performances are attracting attention from the Premier League, with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth showing an interest in Manning.

A move to Bournemouth to link-up with Eddie Howe would be an excellent move for the 20-year old midfielder.

Howe is regarded as one of the best young coaches in England, and has shown during his two seasons in the Premier League, just how much he can improve players.

Lewis Cook made the move from Leeds United to Bournemouth 12-months ago, and despite having a frustrating time with injury during the 2016/17 campaign, he is starting to show how much his game is developing under Howe’s influence.

It may be premature to be linking Manning with a move to the Premier League, but there is no denying that his first six-months in the Championship were impressive.

If the 20-year old is to move to the Premier League in the near future, and Bournemouth is an option for him, Manning must go to the South Coast to work under Howe.
