Saturday’s clash between Brentford and Leeds United promises to be an intriguing contest, with serious questions starting to be asked about Thomas Christiansen, with Leeds suffering six defeats in their last eight Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

Whilst Christiansen and Leeds go into battle at Griffin Park, the likelihood is the likes of Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta will be watching on closely to see if the Whites can turn things around in the Championship.

Here at FLW, we believe that whilst Leeds’ owner and transfer guru will be focusing on the club’s current poor fun of form, the duo could also be keeping a watchful eye on the January transfer window and one Brentford player in particular – goalkeeper, Daniel Bentley.

Leeds’ current goalkeeping nightmare is no secret, with Felix Wiedwald out of the picture following an worrying run of form, and Andy Lonergan deputising, despite many expecting the 34-year-old to only play a supporting role this season.

Bentley was on Leeds’ radar under Massimo Cellino’s regime, after a string of impressive performances for Southend, prior to his move to Griffin Park. Since the goalkeeper’s move to Brentford, he has impressed once again, with the 24-year-old establishing himself as one of the Championship’s most consistent.

Bentley has made 60 appearances for Brentford in the Championship since his arrival last summer, missing just a single fixture. The goalkeeper has kept five clean sheets from 15 appearances this season, and is once again excelling for the Bees.

Leeds’ recent form has certainly set alarm bells ringing around Elland Road, and undoubtedly the club’s sole focus at Griffin Park on Saturday should be picking up a positive result. However, with Leeds’ goalkeeping difficulties contributing to their downfall, Radrizzani and Orta keeping a watchful eye on Bentley’s performance could be a shrewd move.
