Sunderland have their sights firmly set on to the play-off semi-final second leg against Portsmouth, as they travel to Fratton Park with a one-goal advantage.

Chris Maguire scored the game's only goal as he put the Black Cats in command of the tie going into Thursday's meeting, with their season about to reach its climax.

However, one Sunderland man has already confirmed his season is over following an Instagram post on Tuesday morning. Bali Mumba shared the message in the build-up to Sunderland's key play-off clash, with the defensive midfielder not expecting to feature again this season.

The 17-year-old started Sunderland's first two matches of the season, but Jack Ross has now not selected him since December as he has had to settle for games with the U18s and U23s sides.

Mumba only managed eight appearances for the Stadium of Light outfit this term, but his social media message suggests he is ready to prove his capabilities next season.

Sunderland fans were quick to praise Mumba in response to his message, with many claiming that he should have featured more this season.

Here are some of their Instagram reactions...
