Hull City have made a solid start to life back in the Championship, in what is Leonid Slutsky’s first managerial job in English football.

The former CSKA Moscow and Russia manager took over from Watford-bound Marco Silva during the close season following the Tigers’ relegation from the Premier League, a disappointment which has instigated much change around the KCOM Stadium.

Key first teamers such as Curtis Davies, Tom Huddlestone, and Harry Maguire all left the club over the summer, as of course did manager Silva, leaving new boss Slutsky with much work to do to rebuild the squad ahead of the 2017/18 Championship campaign.

And with two wins and a draw from their opening five league games, the 46-year-old will likely be satisfied with his team’s start, with victories over Burton Albion and Bolton Wanderers, alongside a draw against Aston Villa, leaving them eighth going into the international break.

And it has been a busy summer of transfer activity at the North East outfit with several new additions, most notably Nouha Dicko and Jackson Irvine, yet one man who hasn’t made the move to the KCOM Stadium is Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa.

The 24-year-old joined the Foxes last summer but struggled to nail down a first team spot last season, and was repeatedly linked with a move away this summer, with a reunion with former CSKA Moscow boss Slutsky at Hull a possible destination.
