Aston Villa made the best possible start to the new year after thrashing automatic promotion contenders Bristol City 5-0 at Villa Park, as gaffer Steve Bruce looked to wind-down from Sunday night’s antics.
Steve Bruce had no better hangover cure than seeing Robert Snodgrass (2), Scott Hogan, Birkir Bjarnasson and Conor Hourihane find themselves on the goal-scoring sheet, after what was a rough morning for the gaffer.
Indeed, many fans see managers as the ‘boring type’ who end up going home to stick on Downton Abbey and Strictly Come Dancing, but not Brucey. Steve Bruce relived some of his younger days as he enjoyed his Birthday celebrations on New Years Eve a bit too much, as he looked worse for wear turning up to see his side defeat Bristol City on Monday.
Following their 5-0 victory at the weekend, a video surfaced on a Villa related Twitter account, that saw Steve Bruce looking to be in a spot of bother.

So without further ado, here’s a look at what Villa fans made of the Twitter post…
Should get battered more often if we play like that the day after
