With current Derby County manager Gary Rowett looking set to join Stoke City according to reports, talks have now turned on who could replace him at Pride Park.

One potential candidate is former Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy, who guided the Tractor Boys to a 12th place finish in the Championship this season, before departing the club in April earlier this year, following the expiration of his contract.

The 59-year-old spent six season managing Ipswich Town, with his highest league finish coming in the 2014/15 season, finishing sixth and eventually losing out in the play-off semi-finals.

Derby County also missed out on a chance to gain promotion to the Premier League following their play-off semi-final defeat at the hands of Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham, and with Rowett seemingly jumping ship, could we see Mick McCarthy taking charge of the Rams next season?

The veteran manager has experience coaching in all levels of football, for club and country, and could be the right man to secure top flight football at Pride Park in years to come.

As you can see above, we are taking a look back at Mick McCarthy’s all time managerial stats.

In his 26 years as a manager, McCarthy has taken charge of 951 matches in total, for the five different teams he has been in charge at.

Having won 369 of the games and losing 329, it leaves the Englishman with a win percentage of 38.8% across his career.

With 253 draws to his name, McCarthy will be hoping to turn those results into victories if he is in charge at Pride Park next season.

McCarthy’s two honours both come in the form of the Championship title, having won it with Sunderland in the 2004/05 season and with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2008/09 campaign.
