The transfer window may have closed last week but Nottingham Forest have today confirmed the signing of Ben Watson.

Watson was not bound by the restrictions of the transfer window after being released by Premier League club Watford late on transfer deadline day and Aitor Karanka has now completed the signing of the midfielder, as expected.

The former Wigan man famously scored the dramatic winning goal in the 2013 FA Cup final for the Latics, seeing off Manchester City against all the odds at Wembley but has struggled for first team action at Vicarage Road.

The 32 year old has signed a deal at the City Ground lasting for two and a half years and comes in to further bolster Forest's options in the engine room after Jack Colback was brought into the club from Newcastle United on 31 January as well.

Forest fans took to Twitter to greet the news, as you would expect, and we've taken a look at the best of the reaction online...
