Sheffield Wednesday’s fine start to the Championship seasons continued with an excellent 0-0 draw against Leeds yesterday.
The Owls put in another good display and were unlucky not to take all three points from a game where both sides hit the woodwork.
Garry Monk was once again pleased with what his team had to show and there were a number of fine performances from the Owls team throughout the 90 minutes.
One player who was once again solid in his role was midfielder, Barry Bannan, who put in an assured shift as captain in the middle of the park.
Bannan has become known as the key cog in the Wednesday midfield in the last few seasons and is now firmly entrenched among Owls fans as one of the favourites in the crowd.
Despite not finding the back of the net with a trademark long-range strike yesterday, he was still key as the Owls looked to get a grasp on the midfield area of the game.
His performance didn’t go unnoticed either as plenty of Wednesday fans took time out to sing his praises, with some even calling for him to made permanent skipper…
100% should be permanent captain 💙 Well played Bazza … put a proper shift in 👏👏

Some of your close control and trickery to get out of tight spots was unbelievable

Ran your socks off pal. Fantastic team effort. Unlucky not to get all 3 points. Keep it going.

Good to see such annoyance at FT that we didn't get all 3 points, but hope all the players were proud of that performance, captain.
