‘Shocking’ – These Barnsley fans deliver verdict on 26-year-old’s showing v Bournemouth

Barnsley suffered their heaviest defeat of the campaign, following a 4-0 scoreline against Bournemouth at Oakwell early on Friday evening.

Despite winning five of their eight Championship matches under Valerien Ismael, the Tykes were second best throughout, and were always facing an uphill battle from the moment Phillip Biling hammered the Cherries into a 12th-minute lead.

But perhaps Barnsley’s night was summed up by Bournemouth’s second. Deep into first-half stoppage-time, striker Cauley Woodrow was caught in possession just outside his own box, and a matter of seconds later, Dominic Solanke had thumped the visitors into a two-goal advantage.

Seven minutes into the second-half, the game was over as a contest as left-back Sergio Rico added a third for Jason Tindall’s men, before Sam Surridge completed the scoring with 22 minutes left.

Quiz: Which club did Barnsley sign each of these 25 players from?

And here, we’ve been looking at how the Oakwell faithful have been reacting to the striker’s display on social media.
