Cardiff City's defensive frailties were there for all to see on Tuesday, as they fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Luton Town to see them crash out of the EFL Cup.

The Bluebirds only had 30% possession on the night, in a game where the Hatters certainly took the chances that came their way.

Junior Hoilett's own goal shortly before half-time saw the visitors head into the break with a one-goal lead.

That lead was then doubled when Alan Sheehan scored just after the hour mark, before Jake Jervis made it comfortable with 20 minutes remaining on the night.

It means that Neil Warnock's side are out of the EFL Cup, and will be concentrating on turning their stuttering start to life back in the Championship around at the earliest of opportunities.

Plenty of Cardiff fans weren't happy following their exit from the EFL Cup.
