Loads of Portsmouth fans have reacted to the revelation that they did not have a decided penalty taker going into their midweek victory over Southend United.

The result moved the South Coast side to within five points of the top-six and eased the pressure on manager Kenny Jackett after what had been a painfully slow start to the campaign.

But they roared to victory against the Shrimpers with Ellis Harrison netting twice, first crashing in a close range effort off the bar before converting a second half penalty.

It was just their fifth win of the season but they will now be hoping that some momentum can be built from the victory moving forward.

However, following the clash, assistant manager Joe Gallen revealed that they did not have decided penalty taker, with Harrison, Marquis and Ronan Curtis all making their case to take the kick.
