‘Shocker,’ ‘Awful’ – Plenty of Norwich City fans hammer performance of 29-y/o following Swansea setback

A number of Norwich City fans have been left frustrated by the performance of midfielder Kenny McLean following the Canaries’ 2-0 defeat away at promotion rivals Swansea City on Friday night.
Daniel Farke’s side headed into the game looking to get back to winning ways after being held to two frustrating goalless draws by Middlesbrough and Millwall in their last two league matches. It was also a chance to open up more of a points cushion on the chasing pack and prevent Swansea from closing the gap on them. However, they were ultimately second best and fell to a defeat.
One player who endured a difficult evening against Swansea was McLean, with the 29-year-old not able to prevent Swansea from controlling the game from the middle of the park in the first half in particular. The midfielder was also guilty of giving the ball away in the build-up to Conor Hourihane’s excellent strike for the all-important second goal of the game.
The midfielder was too sloppy in possession on numerous occasions and lost the ball 17 times throughout the 90 minutes, while he also failed to make a single key pass when trying to make things happen in the final third (Sofascore).
Many Norwich fans were left bemused over how he had stayed on the field and were left frustrated over his general performance levels as the Canaries needed more from him to help them earn a positive result again their promotion rivals.
Here then, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
