The midfielder has today linked up with Wigan Athletic across the Sky Bet Championship, joining the club on-loan initially before making that deal permanent in January.

The midfielder had started Sheffield United’s first two Championship fixtures and was a regular last season following his arrival at Bramall Lane from Wolves, but Chris Wilder has made the decision to move the Welshman on.

Evans, 24, has taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver a message to Sheffield United, thanking the club for his time there, before wishing everyone the best for the future.
