Sheffield Wednesday are on course for a strong finish to the season after seeing numerous first team players return and will be hoping that momentum can stand them in good stead for next season.

The Owls, under manager Jos Luhukay, have finally appeared to get things right over the last few months, and despite a poor season on the whole, hopes will be high heading into the summer that the club can bring in some new faces and really kick on into the next campaign.

The past few season have seen the owners at Hillsborough splash the cash, but things might be different this summer, with the club potentially needing to tighten the purse strings and be a bit wiser in who they look to target.

With that in mind, we at FLW think the Owls could look to League One to snap up some talent, and we have identified TWO League One stars who could do a job for Wednesday next season...

Jack Marriott

The Peterborough striker has been nothing short of superb this season, smashing in excess of 20 goals and proving himself to be quite the talent down in the third tier.

Marriott has really shot himself into the limelight, and a summer move would come as no surprise to anyone.

The Owls could do with another goalscorer, and Marriott will be hungry to prove himself at a higher level.

Tarique Fosu

The young Charlton midfielder has had an excellent season for the Addicks and has developed himself into a key man at the Valley, knocking in nine goals this season.

Fosu, who is just 22, has a bright future ahead of him, and a move to the Championship or beyond will no doubt come along at some point.

Good with the ball, capable in front of goal, and able to play across the midfielder, Fosu would represent an excellent summer capture for the Owls.
