Sheffield Wednesday take on QPR this weekend as they look to finish this season on a high.

The Owls have had a solid year in the end, and will hope they can challenge for the top six next campaign.

We spoke to Championship Pod host and die-hard Sheffield Wednesday fan Louis Shackshaft to preview the final game of the year as per usual here, then:

1. The play-off dream is over but can you take positives from the fightback at Preston?

Definitely. Conceding three goals was a huge disappointment, but to come back from a two-goal disadvantage and claim a point, you can only take the positives from that. Preston is always a tough place to visit, it was nice to keep them below us in the table.

2. Wednesday congratulated Sheffield Utd earlier this week, where do you sit with that?

I doubt they’d have done the same if the situation was reversed. It’s a very admirable statement by Chansiri. Don’t get me wrong, Sheffield United deserve to be promoted, they’ve proven me wrong all season. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and appreciate their success, but I personally won’t be going as far congratulating them by any means.

3. The clamour for Michael Hector to sign is increasing by the day, would he be your biggest signing of the summer?

Hector has become a vital cog in our wheel and is fantastic defender at this level. He would be an outstanding signing, however, I’m not counting my chickens. I understand Wednesday aren’t in a position to be spending cash freely and I’m sure Chelsea would want some return on their investment. It will be interesting to see if Bruce can conjure up another deal to bring him back.

4. Overall, sum up this season

It’s been a season of ups and downs. Overall I’d be happy with a top half-finish based on where we were sat in December. We’ve gone from conceding goals for fun to having a solid back four in the space of a few months. Bruce has been our best acquisition, it bodes well for the future. We’ve also seen some screamers of goals, at times we have been a joy to watch. I do, however, expect an improvement in our league position next season.

5. Score prediction for this weekend

Last game of the season, at home, should be a decent atmosphere. I can’t look past a Wednesday win here. I’ll predict a 3-1 victory to the Owls.
