Sheffield Wednesday have made an encouraging start to the 2020/21 season under Garry Monk and have given themselves a good chance of survival.

Monk has seen his side claw back five points in the opening four fixtures of the season, manoeuvring Wednesday onto minus seven points in the Championship’s current table.

The last week or so has seen the Championship placed on hold due to the international break. For Monk, that’s given him the perfect chance to lay focus on the transfer window, which closes on Friday.

Quiz: Do Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United have these 10 things in common?

With that in mind, we kick off Wednesday’s transfer round-up with the latest of Aden Flint…

Aden Flint

It emerged over the weekend that Wednesday were in the mix to sign Flint from Cardiff City.

However, further reports from the Sheffield Star have played that down.

The interest in Flint is there, but a deal before Friday’s deadline looks unlikely.

Kenneth Zohore

As per Yorkshire Live, Wednesday remain interested in a season-long loan for the forward that scored three goals for West Brom in the Championship last season.

Monk is wanting another forward to complement his squad at Hillsborough, but this deal for Zohore hasn’t progressed heading into the final week of the window.

It’s now in something of a race against time.

Keiren Westwood

Onto an outgoing, Westwood was the subject of two bids last week.

It was reported by the Star last week that two loan bids had been turned down for Westwood.

The goalkeeper is out of the picture at Hillsborough, with Cameron Dawson and Joe Wildsmith competing for the gloves in Monk’s squad.

Lee Camp

Camp is training with Sheffield Wednesday to maintain fitness, with the free agent on the lookout for a new club.

Monk previously worked with Camp at Birmingham City, but it appears he isn’t going to be signing a deal at Hillsborough.

The Sheffield Star report how his appearances in South Yorkshire are purely down to fitness work.
