Sheffield Wednesday could be set to make a surprise swoop for RB Leipzig midfielder Ollie Burke, according to the Sun on Sunday (Print edition, June 18th 2017).

The former Nottingham Forest winger only moved to Leipzig last season when he made a surprise £11m switch to the Bundesliga club, much to the fury and surprise of Forest fans.

However it now appears the Owls could make a move for Burke, who has impressed during his time with the German club but could well be up for some more first team football ahead of the new campaign for 2017/18.

Burke broke through into the Forest team as a teenager, and was a revelation in his debut season, leading to a host of top clubs around Europe declaring their interest in the Scot.

The powerful midfielder is still only 20-years-old, and could well see a move to Carlos Carvalhal's Owls a positive step in his career, with the Sheffield club making decent runs at promotion over the last two seasons, failing in the playoffs on both occasions.

It remains to be seen if Leipzig would sanction the move though, but Owls fans will surely be happy to see a player of this quality linked to the club.

Owls fans, what do you think to this? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
