Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are set to make an offer for Blackburn Rovers star Ben Marshall, according to the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old signed for Blackburn in 2013 in £750,000 deal from Leicester City, putting pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at the club.
The former Manchester United trainee has seen plenty of interest in him this year, with Derby County and Hull City courting him in January, but no bids were made for him.
Marshall had a loan spell at Hillsborough during the 2011/12 season and scored five goals in 22 appearances as the Owls went on to win promotion from League One.
Interest has carried on into this summer with Brighton and Hove Albion making a bid of £1.5 million this week only to have it rejected by Rovers boss Gary Bowyer.
Sheffield Wednesday are not set to make an offer after tentative enquires over the past few weeks, although it’s thought they will have to up Brighton’s offer of £1.5 million by a fair amount.
