Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to strengthen their position at the top of the League One table on Saturday afternoon, when they travel to The Valley to face Charlton Athletic.

The Owls go into that top of the League One standings, eight clear of the play-off places, and are unbeaten in their last 19 games in the league.

Charlton meanwhile, have won five of their last eight league games, having enjoyed something of a resurgence since the appointment of Dean Holden as manager, putting them 11th in the standings.

This could therefore, still be a tough test for Darren Moore's side, who will be without several senior players for this trip to London.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the Sheffield Wednesday players who are set to be unavailable for that trip to Charlton at the weekend, right here.

Speaking ahead of the game, Moore has confirmed that his side have no new injury concerns, although there are still some individuals they will have to do without at The Valley.

On of those is centre back Ben Heneghan. A summer signing from AFC Wimbledon, the 29-year-old managed 13 appearances for the Owls before suffering a serious knee injury in late October, that may yet keep him out for some time.

Another option at the centre of defence that they will be unable to call upon against the Addicks is Michael Ihiekwe, who is also suffering with a knee ligament problem.

Meanwhile attacker Mallik Wilks is suffering from a calf issue that his kept him out of the Owls' last three games, and looks set to do so again at the weekend.

One other potential attacking threat that is set to be unavailable to Moore for this trip to London, is Callum Paterson.

The 28-year-old was forced out of Wednesday's 1-0 win at home to Plymouth at the start of this month with a muscle problem, that continues to keep him sidelined.

Providing an update on that quartet ahead of this game, Moore confirmed that while all four players are making good progress with their recoveries, Saturday's game will be too early for them to return to action.
