Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood is in line to start for Sheffield Wednesday this weekend against Preston North End in the Sky Bet Championship. according to the Sheffield Star.

The Owls have used both Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson for the last year or so in goal, with Garry Monk making it clear that he saw Westwood's future lying away from Hillsborough.

However, Monk is no longer at the club and Tony Pulis has arrived, with it appearing that he has very different views on the goalkeeper situation at the Owls compared to his predecessor.

Indeed, the report is suggesting that Westwood, not long after being registered earlier this week for the club, is in contention to come back into the starting XI straight away, as the Owls take on North End at the weekend.

The Verdict

It's been a whirlwind few days at Sheffield Wednesday and perhaps none more so, in terms of players, than for Westwood.

Not so long ago he was training away from the first-team, likely planning a move in January, and now he is set to feature for the club once more under Pulis.

He'll be eager to show why that is the right call, then, and it shakes up the goalkeeper dynamic once more at the club.
