The 2017/18 campaign was a difficult one for Sheffield Wednesday, who failed to challenge for the play-offs in the Sky Bet Championship.

Under Carlos Carvalhal in 2016 and 2017, the Owls challenged for a Premier League return, finishing in the Championship’s top-six in consecutive years.

There was huge expectancy ahead of the 2017/18 campaign, but ultimately Carvalhal failed to put the Owls in contention, eventually losing his job at Hillsborough.

Jos Luhukay stepped in and led Wednesday to 15th, way short of where many expected to see them.

The Dutchman is now overseeing the summer transfer window, ahead of his first full season with the Owls.

Here at FLW, we wanted to find out if Wednesday’s supporters were confident ahead of next season. Asking in a Twitter poll if they believe their side will launch a play-off push next season.

After a testing 12 months, Wednesday’s supporters are approaching the new season cautiously, with just 46% of voters in our poll backing Luhukay to launch a play-off push.

54% of voters aren’t convinced that the Owls have what it takes to challenge for the top-six.
