Norwich City are still considering a late move to bring Sheffield Wednesday's Jordan Rhodes back to the club for their Premier League campaign.

The 29-year-old was on loan at Carrow Road last season, scoring six goals and featuring in 36 games as Daniel Farke's side won the Championship.

And, Rhodes could be on his way back to Norfolk, with Football Insider claiming that he is still a target for the Canaries who are weighing up whether to bring him in on a permanent basis.

If they do press ahead with that then agreeing a deal with the Owls should be pretty straightforward as the Scotland international is entering the final year of his contract at Hillsborough.

As well as that, he was an unused substitute in the weekend win at Reading, so Rhodes could find first-team opportunities hard to come by in Yorkshire over the coming months.

The report does also state that there is Championship interest in the player, who will seemingly be on the move before Thursday's transfer deadline.

The Verdict

Every now and then you see a transfer happen that you just can't get your head around and Norwich signing Rhodes would fall into that category.

Even though he would only be a backup, he didn't really impress last season and his form over the past few years has been a concern.

But, if a proposal is put forward then he would be desperate to go to the top-flight and you can imagine that Wednesday will be desperate to sell as they look to shift some players who are on decent contracts.

So, it will be interesting to see how this plays out but the Owls will certainly be hoping the report is true.
