Nuhiu has told the Sheffield Star that he believes that they have a better chance of achieving something this season after they signed 15 players during the summer.

The Owls have had a slow start to the campaign and are yet to win a game since the opening day fixture against Bristol City and are currently 15th in the Championship. Yet Nuhiu believes they can change their fortunes with a win at Burnley this weekend.

The 26-year old told the Sheffield Star: “The competition we have now in the team now has never been as high in the two season I have been here. We have 15 new players and this can be a very good thing, but also the misunderstanding can be there.

“I am an optimistic person and I am a positive person and I think we can go again together and start sharp and on the front foot, then we can do something because the quality is there for sure.”

Nuhiu joined Wednesday in 2013 from Rapid Wien on a three-year deal and was the Owls top scorer last season with 11 goals in all competitions and has been capped by Austria Under-21’s 13 times and has seven strikes to his name.

Yet he has made it clear that he will not play for their senior side and has opted his allegiance to his birth-country Kosovo after they were recognised by UEFA and FIFA.
