Sheffield Wednesday are looking to get their season going this Friday night as they take on Wolves in what looks a huge game for Carlos Carvalhal.

The men from Hillsborough have not had the campaign they would have thought they were going to have this season and need to turn things around sharpish.

Indeed, Carlos Carvalhal is really up against it and could even find himself out of the job before too long with him set to be in the stands for the game with the Old Gold.

Even so, there's no better way to kickstart your campaign than by beating the league leaders and that has to be what the Owls are aiming for.

For midfielder David Jones, then, it is a case of keeping positive in order to try and beat Wolves and then get themselves up the table.

As quoted by the club's official website:

“Where we’re concerned, we have to keep positive and approach every game in that frame of mind.

“A few wins and you’re right back up there. There is plenty to play for.”

For sure, there's not many leagues where this is truer than in the Championship and if the Owls can get on a run they could still get involved in the top six fight.

The Verdict

The Owls haven't had a good campaign so far this season but they are still capable of turning it on so there should be some hope.

Whether or not the squad can remain positive with things not going as well as they should be is another question altogether, though.
