Sheffield Wednesday are struggling a little bit in the Sky Bet Championship right now after flirting with the top six.

The Owls have certainly had a roller-coaster season so far and it remains to be seen exactly what their prospects are looking like.

They are capable of a top-six finish with the squad they have but with Jos Luhukay tinkering like there's no tomorrow, he has brought pressure upon himself when he really didn't need to.

It remains to be seen, then, whether or not he can get results back on track with the Steel City derby later this week and, that said, his team selection also seems anyone's guess right now.

This week, though, the Owls have been given a boost of sorts with Joost van Aken playing an hour for the U23 side - as per the club's official Twitter account:

Of course, it's unlikely he'll now be straight back into the first team but, providing he stays on track, it seems as though he isn't far away now from being back in contention.

The Verdict

The Owls have been rather interesting to watch this year because you never know what you're going to get.

They could go on a run of wins or a run of defeats and neither would particularly surprise you.

If they can stick to a system and get playing, though, results should come and it remains to be seen if van Aken can force his way into the reckoning.
