Sheffield Wednesday captain Glenn Loovens has told the club’s official website that they must forget the past two games and look forward in order to progress.
After a string of wins gave Sheffield Wednesday fans some hope that they could mount a late automatic promotion challenge, two losses in the last two games put an end to that and now the Owls face competition to stay in the play-off spots.
In the early kick-off on Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday lost 1-0 to promotion rivals Leeds United at Elland Road and Jordan Rhodes missed a penalty for the visitors.
With Fulham, Norwich City, Preston North End and Barnsley all picking up points, Sheffield Wednesday will be peering ominously over their shoulder at their five point cushion within the play-off zone.
Loovens has insisted that the Owls must brush themselves down after back-to-back losses and direct their focus on the crucial six pointer against Norwich City coming up next weekend.
