Sheffield Wednesday star issues message fans will surely agree with

Sheffield Wednesday have a big Yorkshire derby against Barnsley this weekend to take on as they try to get back to winning ways in the Championship.

The men from Hillsborough have been stuck in a rut for much of this season in the sense that their inconsistent form has stopped them from getting near the top six. For sure, they’ve still got it in them to get into those play-off places but until they go on a run of form that is not going to happen.

A win over Barnsley, then, would be the ideal tonic and speaking ahead of the game Joost van Aken has said that the Owls need a lot of wins and points. Indeed, he’s also referred to the need for more consistency – as quoted by Dom Howson on Twitter:

Certainly, fans will agree with this appraisal from van Aken and they’ll be looking for him and his team-mates to make good on these words. So often we see players say things like this but not actually follow them up with actions and so that is what the Owls’ stars need to do.

The Verdict

The Owls have struggled this year but they are good enough to get back towards the top six if they can just get on a run.

They need to believe in themselves and attack and not be scared of opposing players because at times they have been timid this year.
