Sheffield Wednesday have got off to a relatively strong start in the Championship so far, with the Owls currently sat eighth in the league table.

They have looked impressive under Garry Monk's guidance, although the Owls boss will be hoping to see some more consistency in their results.

Monk's team will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they take on Cardiff City in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Friday.

A number of the first team squad have been active on social media over the international break, with some of Monk's side featuring for their respective countries.

In our latest round-up, we look at what some of Garry Monk's squad have been getting up to in the last week.

Liam Palmer

It was a week of mixed emotions for Palmer, who played the fully 90 minutes in both of Scotland's Euro 2020 Qualifiers over the international break.

Palmer didn't have the best of games against Russia, as his side were thrashed 4-0 by Russia in a disappointing evening for Steve Clarke's men.

But they responded to that defeat in the best way possible, as they swept aside San Marino by six goals to nil recently, with Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn netting a hat-trick for Scotland.

Fernando Forestieri

Forestieri has returned to action from a six-game suspension after being found guilty of using racist language towards Mansfield Town's Krystian Pearce in July 2018.

The Italian scored for the Sheffield Wednesday under 23's team at the weekend, as they thrashed Hull City 5-1 at the KCOM Stadium.

The Owls have revealed that Forestieri is available for selection for their game against Cardiff City on Friday, although it remains to be seen as he'll be thrown straight back into the starting XI.

Forestieri took to Instagram to reveal that he is continuing to build up his fitness at the club's training ground ahead of his return to the first team.

Atdhe Nuhiu

The forward has had a fantastic week with Kosovo, as his side moved to within touching distance of qualification for Euro 2020.

Nuhiu played the full 90 minutes against Gibraltar, where Kosovo ran out narrow 1-0 winners to keep the pressure on the top two in Group A.

The Owls forward was an unused substitute in their next game against Montenegro, as Kosovo secured a vital three points with a 2-0 win.

Nuhiu will be hoping that he can get back to his best form in front of goal when Sheffield Wednesday are next in action against Cardiff City on Friday in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Keiren Westwood

Westwood hasn't been away on international duty, and the Hillsborough faithful will be hoping to see the shot-stopper build on some impressive showings for the Owls.

The Irishman took to Twitter during the week to give Sheffield Wednesday supporters a glimpse of his training routine.

Westwood has kept three clean sheets in his ten league appearances for Garry Monk's side this term, and will be key to any promotion push the Owls have this season in the Championship.
