Sheffield Wednesday have completed the loan signing of young Southampton midfielder Lloyd Isgrove until the end of the season, the Saints have confirmed.
The midfielder is in contention to make his debut on Saturday in the Yorkshire derby away to relegation threatened Rotherham.
Isgrove who has been playing predominantly under-21 football for the Saints this season has made four senior appearances and is certainly one for the future, having signed a new two-year contract extension at St Mary’s.
He has made one previous loan and that was last season where he went on loan to Peterborough United, scoring one goal in eight games there.
The 22-year-old joins a Wednesday side who currently sit 13th in the Sky Bet Championship table 16 points clear of the relegation zone and 15 points of the play offs so consolidation in mid-table seems the most likely outcome for them this season.
However, Stuart Gray will be hoping his team can gather some late momentum to push nearer towards the play-off places and carry it forward to next season.
