Sheffield Wednesday missed out on promotion yet again this season, falling in the playoffs against a Huddersfield side managed by enigmatic manager David Wagner.

The Owls have made it to the shootout for the Premier League in successive seasons now, but will be looking to go one better next year and finally make it back to the top flight.

However, to do so they will need to add new faces once more to an already expensively assembled squad, with Premier League quality likely to be the order of the day.

One player who Wednesday could look towards is Spurs youngster Josh Onomah, who after breaking into the team last year, struggled to make much progress this past year.

Onomah though is a player clearly rated by the powers that be at White Hart Lane – now Wembley.

His pace and trickery in wide areas make him a tough opponent for defenders to stop, and a season in the Championship could do him the world of good.

He would be an excellent fit for Wednesday, who have a distinct lack of pace in wide areas, and he could well want to prove himself and impress Mauricio Pochettino.

Overall, a loan move to Hillsborough looks a good deal on paper, and if the Owls do fancy signing a pacey winger, then Onomah could well be their man.
