Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are set to complete the signing of Lewis McGugan from Premier League newcomers Watford, according to the Sheffield Star.
The former Nottingham Forest midfielder joined the Owls on loan from the Hornets in 2014 after complaining about the lack of game time he was getting at Vicarage Road.
Despite the loss of manager Stuart Gray, he has remained a target for the club after scoring three goals and claiming three assists for the club in 22 appearances.
There were rumours that Wednesday couldn’t match the fee asked by the Golden Boys for the 26-year-old, but they’ve managed to thrash out a deal, and have agreed terms.
McGugan completed a medical yesterday afternoon and spent last night agreeing the final pieces of paperwork before completing a return to Hillsborough.
The Owls are gunning for promotion this year and are adding more signings to help them on their way back to the Premier League.
