Sheffield Wednesday have hit a hot streak of form at just the right time as the play-off race gets more exciting.

Four wins in a row have kept the Owls in the play-off zone and they currently sit 5th, although they are just 2 points clear of Leeds United in 7th.

With just three games left to play - including a potentially vital final day showdown against sixth placed Fulham - Carlos Carvalhal will want to have his best players available to him.

That is why he will be delighted to hear news, as reported by The Sheffield Star, that influential central midfielder Kieran Lee is edging ever closer to his return to first team action after sitting out since January.

The 28-year-old underwent surgery on a hip injury and was expected to miss the rest of the season, but he could return to boost the squad ahead of the play-offs.

Carvalhal told The Sheffield Star:

“Kieran is training normal which is good news but of course his physical condition is not the best.

“We know Kieran can surprise us so let’s see how good a reaction he has in the next few days.”
