Steven Fletcher has returned to training and could feature for Sheffield Wednesday when they host Aston Villa on Saturday, but the Owls look set to be without Rolando Aarons due to an ankle injury.
The pair both missed last weekend’s goalless draw at Stoke after picking up knocks in the win over Blackburn in the final game before the international break.
Now it seems that the Owls could be set to welcome one of those players back at the weekend, after Sheffield Star journalist Dom Howson confirmed that Fletcher has trained and is in contention to return against Villa.
Some good and bad news on the injury front for #SWFC.

Fletcher has been a key part of Wednesday’s push for a play-off place since the arrival of Steve Bruce, scoring five goals in 10 games since Bruce took charge at the start of February.
Meanwhile, Aarons has also featured heavily since arriving from Newcastle on deadline day in January and has impressed down the left flank with his pace and direct style.
Saturday’s game feels like a key game for Steve Bruce’s side if they are to keep their play-off hopes alive against one of the sides currently occupying a top six spot.
The return of Fletcher will therefore be a big boost for The Owls as they look to beat a defence that has only been breached twice in five consecutive games leading in to Saturday’s fixture.
However, not having Aarons available is a blow but that opens the door for someone else to step in.
