Sheffield Wednesday may have secured an impressive win at Hull last time out but there's no doubt that everyone connected to the club is already thinking about next season.

The Owls have had little to play for in the last few months which was a major disappointment after reaching the top six in the two previous campaigns.

Jos Luhukay took over in January but he hasn't had enough time to bring his own players on or put a real stamp on the team.

However, he won't be able to use that excuse in from August, with the former Gladbach boss set to oversee a major overhaul this summer.

There promises to be plenty of players coming and going in the coming months and here are four players who are fighting for a future at Hillsborough...

It's fair to say that Rhodes has been an awful signing for Wednesday since making his big-money move and the reality is they won't get anywhere near the fee they paid for him if he was to go.

So, do they keep persevering with a player who had proven him to be prolific at this level or let him go on loan or get what they can for him?

It's a tough decision but at the minute it's hard to see a future for Rhodes with the Yorkshire club.

Matias hasn't been helped with injuries over the years at Hillsborough and once again he has struggled to make a real impact this season.

He offered some promising signs at the start of Luhukay's reign and is a good player if he's fit and available.

However, the Owls have plenty of options up top already and with new signings likely it would be easy to try and shift the 28-year old.

The big striker is certainly doing his best to secure a new deal, with his current contract up in the summer.

Going on the last month or two, it's a no-brainer to keep Nuhiu but in the bigger picture you have to question why his goal record has suddenly picked up when he needs a new deal.

However, he is certainly winning his battle to extend his stay with the club and deserves credit for that.

The former Watford man is another who has suffered with injuries over the years and has only made four appearances this season.

Given that, it may be hard for Luhukay to think he can trust him over a demanding Championship season, even if he does have quality.

Surely picking up a fairly big wage after signing from Watford for £4m, the Owls will be open to a summer sale.
