There have been positive signs for Sheffield Wednesday in the past few weeks with the Owls looking to end their disappointing season on a high.

The ridiculous injury crisis that hit the club this season is starting to ease up and with key men back in the side, particularly Fernando Forestieri, Wednesday have started to look like the side many thought they could be.

Jos Luhukay's side were very impressive last time out, running out 3-0 winners over Reading at Hillsborough.

Obviously, it means nothing now with the side having nothing to play for but it does at least offer encouragement for the future.

Therefore, fans will be hoping with a few more additions in the summer, they can get back to challenging the top six again in 12 months time.

Here we look at three signings that could help transform the club...

The Scotland international has been a standout player for Barnsley in recent weeks and is clearly capable of scoring goals at this level.

McBurnie boasts a very good record with a poor Tykes side, so could be even more effective in the Owls side.

There will be serious competition for his signature, however the 21-year old striker would be an upgrade on what Luhukay currently has in his squad.

With Luhukay often playing a three-man defence, the Owls will need a new centre-back in the summer and Goldson would be a big signing.

He has proven himself to be very capable in the Championship and with Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy in front of him at Brighton he may be open to move in order to play regularly.

At 25-years old, his best years are ahead of him too.

With Atdhe Nuhiu's future still unclear, the Owls could be on the lookout for a target man this summer and Ulloa would be a great signing.

He has struggled to make an impact with Leicester or Brighton this season and to be honest his time in the Premier League is up.

However, he would still be a major player in the Championship and could score the goals to fire Wednesday towards the the top six.
